For young minds, the number line is an invaluable tool throughout primary school years as the resource makes the comparison of numbers easier for them. Throughout these years, the use of the line shifts moving from being utilized to order numbers and establish the concept of "greater than and less than" in early years, then to introduce the concepts of addition and subtraction during middle years and, finally, to multiplication and division in later years.
