What are Sight Words?
Put simply, sight words are short, familiar high-frequency words. To state differently, they are used almost daily and are included in most phrases or sentences. Apart from a few, these words can be difficult to "sound out" since they do not follow typical phonetic rules, therefore, they must be memorized for easy recognition by your little ones. Examples of sight words are: the, does, who and off.
